Dumb AF IMO to buy indoor lettuce grown in a state known for its outdoor lettuce cultivation 😅 these need to be located in cities, not where nature does a good job of it on its own.

Due to a changing climate even the massive outdoor lettuce industry there is in danger, you have main water sources like the Colorado river facing droughts. Indoor vertical farming is trying to address these threats through technology. I’m hopeful for a future where existing and new tech farming systems can work together

___ % less Ca ___ % more nitrates Perhaps @mooneymillions can chime in re how systems have improved over the years to avoid excessive nitrates and lower Ca levels that imo plagued early hydro production. The less water use is * vs depends on where it’s produced. Think for many places glass house is superior to indoor on big scale.
