I miss the heyday of Farcaster channels. Can't really blame anyone for not putting in the effort to keep channels lively when the future of channels remains in limbo, as it's a lot of work to do channels well. But it's sad to see them deteriorate. On the bright side, some people seem quite determined to keep their channels alive in spite of it all. (Shoutout to the /slowcore-hq members).

same it seems like a worthwhile investment for growth especially when trying to onboard specific communities or groups

That's how I see it too -- a long-term investment in communities. There are lots of people on the purple app that I know to be very responsible channel stewards. @mxjxn, @aviationdoctor.eth, and @pichi come to mind as just a few examples, but there are many more. I'd love to see them all have what they need to build thriving channels.
