If you could add a second language (or x # if already multilingual) what would it be?

If you could speak English, Chinese and Spanish then you could basically talk to 50% of the people on Earth

No better 3 language combo

you are assuming the world’s population count is accurate. putting aside factors like outdated or incomplete census system in 3rd world countries like nigeria, dr congo, pakistan, bangladesh to mention a few. 

in the regions listed above, there’s no centralized identity or tracking system. they are limited by infrastructure and proper systems in place to make this happen 

another factor you ignored is mortality rates globally. population counts constantly shifts. speakers die,
babies are born (who don’t yet speak any language)
language trends change (urbanization, migration, etc.)

if you infact do speak these 3 languages, you’re closer to being able to communicate with 28-30% of the world’s population. you can’t prove your theory, neither can i. it’s all speculation. unless exact figures are provided, stats can’t be accurate 

i was going to represent this on a venn diagram, which is why i asked if you can read it.
