Any issues are likely on tooling and setup.

Building Farcaster

yep thats mostly their usefulness i guess, just so you can have a submodule as a public repo but a superset monorepo requiring it

I've never used git submodules. Are they useful?

That approach could make sense if you have packages or go modules that you want to rip out of your monorepo to make them public in a separate repo

turborepo is nice

also a justfile and makefile in root can give you a lot of room to run tasks/scripts as you wish

but yeah monorepo -> git submodules any day

Go TypeScript FTW. I've been wanting to use the experimental VSCode extension in Cursor but it's not supported yet

TypeScript LSP comes to a crawl if you don't index/cache correctly. 

That's where I'd guess most people struggle trying to roll their own.
