MLS is still in development. And that is because America really ruined it to try to make it like the NFL, NBA, MLB etc. Insert a playoff system, and timeout and commercials etc. Don Graber needs to go.
USA became the laughing stock of the soccer world when they tried to do all of this. They never really put together a working system. Having MLS, USL, NASL etc. They need to figure out how to create a PRO/REL system, and make at least three leagues. take the top 15 teams and put them in division 1, bottom 15 in division 2, and then the next league in USL division 3 &4.
Outside of that, MLS has gotten better, and will continue to grow. Instead of it being a retirement home for all the Euro stars, they can start developing talent, and finding good young talent who wants to play in the USA. The USA is growing, and will start to catch up, but it is still entertaining, definitely not Europe, but when you compare the Israeli Prem, Saudi League, and Asian Leagues, Mexican League...there are a few others, MLS is just as competitive.
In regards to Messi, he is the best for sure, and I love that guy. I don't like Miami because they are rivals for Orlando City. But I like him, and I don't like how Miami got special treatment to pretty much get all of Barca on their roster, even though it goes against MLS rules.
I got into Orlando City because of Kaka, and I got to go to some of their games, and got into their supporters club which was really exciting and fun! That brings a whole new level of excitement to the game! 2 replies
