If you're not following @ericolsz, I suggest you do. He is working on cures for stage IV cancer. Medicine in all its forms is about to move into an era of Renaissance as we have tools at our disposal we never previously had. AI being one of the main factors for this, as we can experiment at levels not seen before in our modern age. 

It excites me to no end. That we will be witness to some of the greatest transformations of systems that benefit humanity than ever before and this will be led by an awakening of truth.

work that UW’s protein lab is doing plus 23 and me (or another large repository) data is what I’m crossing my fingers for. the current standard of just applying same drugs to new indications or tweaking chemical compounds slightly with marginal results is the barrier that I believe ai has the power to best.
