Hey everyone, just joined Farcaster and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Eric, I've been in crypto for 10 years and now working on a cure for stage IV cancer. A little more about me: - Ran Austin Ethereum Meetup from 2016-2018, - Contributed to a number of early L2 Ethereum projects, - Early member of Nouns DAO and built Nouns AI, - Built and sold a crypto on/offramp (now DiviSwap)., I'm currently working on Meridian Radiopharmaceuticals, which is developing the first cure for stage IV breast, lung, and prostate cancer (as well as osteosarcoma in children). When I'm not working, I enjoy powerlifting and reading the Great Books of the Western World to my daughter.

The FDA legitimately requires drug developers to do mouse studies before in-human studies. I would be surprised if there was a significant translation of clinical efficacy from rats to humans.

One of the dark secrets of Pharma - "The Placebo Adherence Effect" You've heard of the placebo effect, well, get this - when people are part of clinical trials where they have to take drugs at certain times throughout the day, those who follow the schedule do better in BOTH the experiment and control groups.

Did you know that everyday activities like walking or lifting something heavy can cause tiny cracks "microfractures" in your bones? But don’t worry, your body has a built-in repair crew. Specialized cells quietly break down old or damaged bone and replace it with fresh, strong bone in a constant process called bone turnover. This helps keep your skeleton sturdy, heals micro-injuries, and makes sure your bones stay healthy and resilient over time. Sometimes these cells get out of whack though - where the ones that break down the bone outpace the ones that build it back up. You see this in things like osteoporosis and cancers that spread to the bones.

Hot take - A lot of people think that people who discover a cure for cancer get killed by big pharma. This isn't true - the fact is that most of the money in pharma is spent chasing versus innovating. So, a lot of promising research never makes it to the clinic and dies before it is ever really given a chance.

Our drug is chemically identical to another drug - we just made it ~100,000 times more potent by making it radioactive. This chemical has been used in clinics for 30 years, so there is technically a massive amount of clinical data on it. We are planning studies to see how the greater potency impacts its effect on the body and these tumors.

Isotope separation. His life's work is to usher in the next age of materials (the isotope age). History has been demarcated by the materials used (stone age, bronze age, iron age, silicon age). We got a glimpse of the isotope age with nuclear weapons, nuclear power, nuclear medicine, etc... but we are very much behind, here. The isotope age is effectively an expansion pack on the periodic table of elements - allowing us to go to this:

I can write a few different variants of what we're doing from simplest explanation to the bundles we are working on for the FDA. In short, there's a drug, Zometa which has been shown to slow down the spread of cancer that has spread to the bones. We take one of its phosphorus atoms and add two neutrons to it to make the drug about 100,000 times more effective. So much so that it will not only completely arrest the spread of cancer in the bones but put it into remission. More than happy to discuss live.

Honestly, a lot of pharma is copycat drugs which are minimally differentiated. I would redirect the billions of dollars going into copycat drugs. Did you know that there are over 200 Ozempic copycats in the FDA pipeline, right now? There is so much money that could be going into novel compounds but instead it's chasing hype.

Nope, the work which I had been partly funding (isotope separation) showed immense value in the manufacture of novel cancer drugs. So, that's what we are doing.
