there is much more legacy trash food in US supermarkets than in EU. Average household quality of food in US is worse than in EU. So US and EU do not get roughly the same. My anecdotal opinion.

I believe people understand what is bad for you, and that it’s not fully an education issue, although I’ve wondered if front of package labels in US could help

you I would have agreed with you 5 years ago. But I started blaming ppl a bit less bc environment does play a huge role on avg person. there are always conscious outliers but avg person is just does what is a "norm" in their society.
