Been meaning to put these run stats on here for a while to show off to @epicdylan because you've been showing off your run stats for a bits. Finally started running again like 2 ish weeks ago. First time I felt like shit and my legs were KILLING me after for 2 days. Second one was about 5 days later I think and it was significantly better. Normally, it'd take months before it feels that good again. I'm not particularly fast right now but already on the 3rd run, I ran 13 minutes before walking for rest. That's been consistent across all so far. Only issue I'm having is blisters on my feet lmao! I like to finish with sprints and the 3rd run, that killed me, hyperventilating for 12 minutes needing to be outside in the cool evening air. Last night, I finished with 3 separate sprints. Recovery time is amazingly improved.

Niiiice. Yeah the trick is to just walk if you need to. I finally had a no walking 5k the day before yesterday, and I kept training all winter! My VO2 max stayed up. But I made a few mistakes, ran around an indoor track that was too small and made of concrete once and hurt my knee. Slowed me down for 2 months, and I lost all my speed :( I’m gonna get it back now though just watch.

I think if you want to train recovery, jump training and biking hard are a good way to go. It’s a lot of cardio and then you get to rest up. Idk I always had great recovery because of biking but the jump training is pretty wild and new to me

When I first heard about jump training I did an intro workout before my run and was totally surprised how bad my calves hurt the whole time 😅

Never heard of jump training before! I used to do a lot of plyometrics, that's how I got lean a decade ago, went from being overweight to physically fit in about 4 months. Bit hard to do anything like that now, my place isn't suited for it now. I just lift weights, run & hit the parkour gym a couple times each month. Sucks about your knee though, hope you recover quick. I've had my share of shit keeping me from running, mostly shin splints. I don't think my watch's VO2 Max is super accurate lol, it was apparently 42 after a 1.5 hour walk 2 weeks before running, that first run was 37, 2-4 was 35 and this last one was 32 I think lol Either inaccurate or something's really wrong :D

Yeah the measurements should be more stable. Mine varies very slowly over time, peaked about 42 a month ago, back down to 40.8 recently. I am glad to be above average for my age but I want to get it north of 50 if I can
