Whoever bought my credit card details on the dark web made the schoolboy error of ordering MacDonalds at a magnitude unthinkable of any Japanese card holder

I just went to try to update my gas bill to pay with another card since they need to charge it before the new one is reissued and it turns out they won't take debit cards and the only payment option they have that I can use right now is Bitcoin. I didn't think this scenario ever happened in real life

The only way you can pay for your gas bill in Japan is with Bitcoin? Are we talking about gasoline or power gas?

Gas for the house boiler / gas stove. Normally it would be credit card but I only have the one and that got frozen because somebody bought the details on the darkweb and ordered all the macdonalds. They have bank transfer but it has a limited selection of banks and takes some time to set up.

The wild thing about this is it isn't even USDC or something like that, it's the old-style BTC bit-coins like Satoshi used to make

Whatβs even more ironic is that somebody used energy to mine bitcoin, sold that bitcoin to you, and now youβre selling it back in return for energy
