I don't think openAI would be in a better spot if they put the handful of people responsible for the feature on the core product (likely out of their expertise). this to me seems pure startup-like experimentation. sure it's for an unusual audience, but one which is also currently neglected by all competitors. it might stick, evolve, or fail. regardless it's quite cool to see a company of that size aggressively experimenting (especially with ux patterns, which could lead to unexpected and valuable insights) regardless of the outcome. so it doesn't look bearish at all to me — if anything the opposite
