That's how things used to be and it was exploited constantly for nefarious things, so they added click to connect 😄

Most of the old apps I made back in the 2017-2019 era are broken now because they assume connect on page load and I've been too lazy to go back and fix them.

I'm in the minority of users who wants that extra step of "connect wallet" and selecting which address to connect with when opening an app for the first time. I typically use a fresh address for each app and don't want them linked. If I had the option to connect to each mini app with a fresh alias fc profile, I would do that too

iirc the "connect wallet" is a necessary step for the privacy preservation

however, yeah, most users don't care about privacy and hence won't care

they would enjoy instant connection

Is there a plan to support external links that open in the corresponding native mobile apps when installed, with a fallback to the browser if not? Ideally, at least for X
