Spending this week working near Solano county which has come in recent news for many tech VCs buying up the area for building a city here. Drove around to explore. I’m all for progress but it’d be a shame if they get rid of the refreshing space here. Cattle roaming freely, rolling green hills. Mini-Ireland vibes.

That essentially happened to the outskirts of my hometown. Luckily there are generational farming families that managed to preserve enough to keep development from completely ravaging the area.

friend visiting town recently had a related reflection: we get to see the art and architecture years later b/c someone in control of resources (rich, nobels, kings?) not only became patron but decided to open them for public consumption. we've lost that now it seems. whose helping bring great art to life and allowing public consumption today?
