Like a soft reboot, sleep gets rid of literal brain junk accumulating during waking hours. Awake: neurons use energy to fuel thinking; debris gets left behind after consuming nutrients. Sleep: neurons use rhythmic waves to move cerebrospinal fluid through brain tissue, clearing metabolic waste. Sleep🧠 😴 🛌

I wonder if that happens during yoga nidra as well — because I always feel super refreshed after I do it

Based on the research, the way that neurons flush waste out is through brain waves and so I’m assuming that Yoga Nidra changes brain waves in a way conducive; meditation and yoga does typically change the brain waves state.  Thank you so much for saying that because now I’m going to do that, good reminder. :)
