benefits to therapy vs not I think therapy is ultimately not about solving your emotional problems but rather it’s about going to gym but for your emotions. Building muscles that can enable you to lift different things. If you don’t want to get jacked (emotionally) it’s kind of a waste of time in the same way someone who’s really interested in orthonology is going to get really soil science. Just different areas to focus on.

Bion talks about how painful emotions don’t just disappear. They stay. What changes is our capacity to tolerate them. Therapy isn’t about removing pain, but about developing the tools to think about it, to stay with it without being overwhelmed.
