As our ability to understand what others are thinking develops, we start having more complex inner conversations. And that kind of perspective-taking starts showing up in our own heads. We begin having internal conversations, not just with ourselves, but with different versions of ourselves, different voices, different views. Sometimes these inner chats just drift in when our mind is wandering. but they’re not always full-blown sentences, more like flashes of thought, gut reactions, single words or impressions that don’t need explaining. Maybe that’s why some people are always posting. There's already a constant narrative running in their heads. Sharing becomes a way to let some of that out, to shape it, make sense of it. Such people might be also more comfortable letting their thoughts wander. Instead of locking into one track, they drift between voices, angles, unfinished thoughts.

I'm organizing a book club soon and the first book is When Nietzsche Wept by Irvin Yalom. I read it years ago, but now that I’m reading it again, I’m seeing some parts differently thanks to everything I’ve learned since. What’s interesting though is that, despite all that, the emotions I felt back then still hit just as hard.

When I say to someone: "Talking to you feels like being lost in a fog" I'm expressing an abstract emotional experience by connecting it to the body through metaphor. This kind of expression activates both my own and the other person's sensory and emotional images. In this way, words tap into a shared language of the brain and body, creating a deeper sense of understanding.

When I meet someone, whether in words or silence, I feel it in my body first. The movement of their body, tone of their voice, the rhythm, the pauses- all of it stirs something. Sometimes it’s heavy, sometimes it’s warmth or lightness etc. The body becomes a place where things settle for a moment- it echoes in me, leaving behind something real. Their experience reaches me through sensations. This is where connection begins: as something sensed, long before it’s named. And my sensations become bridges between my inner world, their world, and the space we share. When I connect with another mind and body, I rediscover my own.

The creative process is full of struggle, stress, and pain. It involves intense inner violence. We are overwhelmed by the force of our own impulses. As we try to bring our desires, dreams, ideas, and fantasies into the world, we crash into the limits of reality. We try to find a way to express ourselves within those limits and find gratification within the limits of reality. For this, we need a space that is both connected to external reality and nourished by inner reality. In this space, we transform the violence and create a something. Without this violence, creating something isn’t possible. It’s like the pain of giving birth.

Thoughts just come and go, right? They flow in, a bit messy and all over the place, but that’s the raw stuff of creativity. At first, some of these ideas might seem random or even silly, but they have potential. The magic happens when these ideas start connecting. One thought might not make much sense on its own, but when it links up with another, something interesting can form. It’s in these connections that creativity begins to show up. But here's the thing: we often stop it too early. We judge ideas before they’ve even had a chance to settle. That kind of premature criticism just kills the process. Creativity needs time to breathe, to find its own rhythm, before we try to make sense of it.

After the coup, the country was never the same. Things just kept getting worse. The 1980 coup had already crushed people’s spirit. With this one, fear grew stronger, and people started to lose all their courage. The Gezi Park protests made the government realize it was on shaky ground, and with this coup, it became even more fascist. Then again, there are still those who claim this coup was just a staged act.
