I hate that Youtube forces me to watch them. When I open the app it opens the shorts instantly first. On instagram I don't like that people use it to just post a picture as reels because they are more popular (gaming the system will always happen). So basically, it's annoying that it's the most popular form of content and thus being forced upon you. If you don't make shortform video's on these platforms your content and engagement basically goes to 0. Finding the balance is hard I guess. But don't forget the other forms of content. I don't want to post a "story" to get people to see my actual posts.

Both annoyances are also because they work. Their UX is great, so I keep scrolling instead of what I came to do, watch a specific video or look at the posts from my friends. So it works but it's who screams the loudest and not who makes the best post, video, clip, article, etc..

As a user I would love to seem them integrated as part of the larger feed and not have them as a separate thing as if it was a separate thing (feed or otherwise) it takes the attion away I think. However as a business and for growing, it being a separate thing is probably the course of action to attract new users. Difficult the more I think about it.
