Since I have everyones attention. Looking for input on the following: 1) What is your go to platform for short form videos? (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, X, other?) 2) Do you find it annoying that reels mutes the video or do you find it more annoying that YouTube pauses it when you tap on the screen? 3) Likes and dislikes for each platform you use for short form video ty

1. Reels (I get sucked in), TikTok (best imo), Shorts rarely (but I think that's because most of my YouTube consumption is on desktop where it's hard to get sucked in to a short-form feed) 2. I prefer tap to mute, hold to pause. Feels more consistent with the autoplay, short-form, looping videos format rather than "bigger" videos that you press play (and pause) on. 3. Some things I enjoy across various platforms: – Hold right side for 2x speed (many agree on here) – Hold to pause + remove UI chrome – Double tap to like (with UI + haptic feedback) – Video scrubber at the bottom, expands on touch – Easy share sheet with multi-selection allowed – Video replies to comments (lower priority but nice)

I hate that Youtube forces me to watch them. When I open the app it opens the shorts instantly first. On instagram I don't like that people use it to just post a picture as reels because they are more popular (gaming the system will always happen). So basically, it's annoying that it's the most popular form of content and thus being forced upon you. If you don't make shortform video's on these platforms your content and engagement basically goes to 0. Finding the balance is hard I guess. But don't forget the other forms of content. I don't want to post a "story" to get people to see my actual posts.

Great question! 1)Instagram then X. 2) no I don’t mind the mute feature what I would prefer is not having the post overlap the video on Instagram without expanding the video. 3) of all social platforms LinkedIn provides the most organic reach unpaid as for the rest the algorithms stink

1) TikTok on purpose, Reels by accident 2) Yes, I never want to mute a short form vertical video. Either play with sound or pause 3) I hate that I can’t speed up Shorts. I love hold to speed up on all the others. TikTok algo is the best for me followed by Reels. Shorts algo is more boomer energy and X is just totally different and weird. Reading comments on TikToks is an enoyable part of the experience

1) reels 2) the mute on reels is annoying 3) i RLY dislike seeing random reels / shorts that seem so out of left field and irrelevant to anything I like or want to learn about — the randos cooking food in the woods / along a river / on a tree stump drives me up the wall

1. TikTok, then youtube (rarely for shortform). I dont do meta. 2. - dont pause when i am clicking to unmute. - and I never wanna go into the feed unmuted. I want to toggle on the audio (but only for the first video in my swiping, the 2nd,3rd+ need to be unmuted as i continue down the feed) 3. likes - long press to speed up - tap to pause, but dont get it twisted when i am tapping to unmute - lives mixed into regular feed - auto captions - music discoverability, i like being able to click on the sound/music and finding new artists or creators - keep playing while I am reading the comments

what zinger said + 1) youtube shorts because i don’t have other social medias except fc 2) love the mute option need a pause option too though 3) hate hate hate how yt opens you up to shorts directly, and there’s no way to disable it - if i could disable shorts altogether as an option i would 🙏 instead i delete the app. on fc id love if i could default collapse videos like text, as have little interest in them filling up my entire feeds- as if i was on a platform like tt or ig, i want to be able to at least toggle showing videos so that i can have the text-focused experiences im here for!

1) YouTube Shorts 2) Don't use Reels 3) YouTube Shorts has a habit of repeating content sometimes. As a content creator, I really do like YouTube Shorts since they allow you to automatically upload, comment, and set thumbnails using scripts without threat of ban. Even better, google publicly shares the API to do so.
