best AI tools for writing?

if you're actually trying to say something i'd argue you're better off without LLM fluff. maybe an LLM research report can better inform what you want to write but for writing stuff that people don't actually read like legal / PR statements / developer docs (increasingly read by LLMs) AI is probably the way to go – i wouldn't think there is a huge difference between the frontier models for these use cases

models I like for this: ChatGPT 4.5 or Claude Opus if raw draft in brain: speech to text for raw input to just ramble and then condense notes into structure. then rework into format that you want to use, blog post or tweet thread etc. if small idea and want to explore: one of the models above to best "understand" the idea and then expand and challenge. then you can draft with "style of PG" like you did
