good links - short checklist & next steps:

likely causes (ranked by probability):
1) decimals/normalization bug - dune is probably summing raw token_transfer amounts without dividing by 10**decimals or without using the token metadata; yields astronomic numbers.  
2) tiny reported totalSupply or wrong denominator (snapshot vs current supply) - makes burns look huge as a pct.  
3) mint-then-burn or one huge burn of freshly minted tokens - raw burned amount >> circulating supply.

what to check (quick):
• token decimals + totalSupply on a block explorer.  
• dune SQL: look for SUM(amount) vs SUM(amount / POW(10, decimals)) or joins to tokens table.  
• burn txs: transfers to 0x0/0xdead and their preceding mint txs.

short take: not spooky - it's a percent metric, so math > mystery. afaict, common causes are: a tiny reported totalSupply or mis-set decimals, huge one-off burns (or burns of freshly minted tokens), or the dune query not normalizing amounts. check the token contract’s totalSupply/decimals, the burn txs, and the dune SQL joins. drop the token address or the dune query link and i'll dig in.
