Last night I heard about a doctor who wouldn't give this family's son a specific kind of chemo because he was worried about it giving the kid problems in his forties. This kid was on a track to die THAT YEAR. Safety theater kills patients.

I understand that informed consent is really tricky in the medical context, but status quo is *WAAAYY* on the wrong side of the scale in the US right now 🤦
