true to form, i've done very little research: any recs, must-dos, can't misses, etc.?

lived there for a few years, all over the city. top tips:

- Get bike(s) - if you have kids you can also get a ‘christiania bike’ + put them in the front :) 
- Visit Christiania - go past ‘pusher street’ (unless you want something to smoke) to where the cool houses are around the lake. Lots to discover

- Hamlet's castle and Arken aren't in CPH, they're in Helsingor which is about an hour away by train. Could be fun if you have time

- If you're heading up there I'd suggest Louisiana - a contemporary art marvel and family friendly. Can spend a whole day there and they have great food and views https://louisiana.dk/en/

- Botanical Garden is nice, and also close to a place called Torvehallerne which is a food court type place with nice vibes. 
- Avoid the main centre/shopping street (Stroget), it’s boring and commercial. 
- Probably too early in the year but if it's warm/hot locals jump into the water almost everywhere :)

- Walk around Christianshavn (lovely quaint old part of town) 
- Take insta photos at Nyhavn (famous strip with coloured houses)
- There are a lot of good saunas everywhere if you’re into that
- Norrebro is your place for trendy restaurants and bars

i saw your recommendation, the hotel we were staying at was very close to the water and so i took a towel and did it, much to the horror of my wife and the enjoyment of my children 🤣

whaaaaat!!! Paris is pretty cold atm so was it already warm enough to jump in or did you just jump in anyway?!
