"Community-aligned, simple to use, and rewards the right behaviors" I thought farcaster was striving towards this also? I guess what I don't understand is: - why build something so similar to farcaster? - why splinter the community into smaller pieces? I understand tipping is not sustainable, but idk how we got HERE.

Why build Chrome when Firefox existed? Reddit when forums did the job? It’s not to replace, but to offer something different. Farcaster’s great for broadcasts—this focuses on discussion. We’re adding to the ecosystem, not splintering it. More choice = more users.

Farcaster is struggling for critical mass to supplant X, and as an early Degen lover and tipper I would have liked to see Degen developed as a MiniApp laser focused on tipping instead of a separate App that WILL bifurcate users. People will choose one or the other and critical mass will be harder to achieve.

I don’t think that’s quite right — it’s like saying the internet couldn’t reach critical mass because people used Internet Explorer instead of Netscape. In reality, more browsers helped the internet grow. Same here: having more clients (not fewer) increases experimentation, choice, and value. It doesn’t split the network — it strengthens it.
