"Community-aligned, simple to use, and rewards the right behaviors" I thought farcaster was striving towards this also? I guess what I don't understand is: - why build something so similar to farcaster? - why splinter the community into smaller pieces? I understand tipping is not sustainable, but idk how we got HERE.

Why build Chrome when Firefox existed? Reddit when forums did the job? It’s not to replace, but to offer something different. Farcaster’s great for broadcasts—this focuses on discussion. We’re adding to the ecosystem, not splintering it. More choice = more users.

True. All have differing goals. My personal one and the goal of many is a social platform that is an alternative to X, with many of the features that Farcaster has. And indeed Degen exemplifies.
