To cut spam, Degen app will require phone verification: 1 number = 1 account. We don’t get your identity—just proof you’re real. No anon mode for now. If you’re ok with this, lmk. If not, suggest better ways to verify. We want your input.

Will the phone numbers be encrypted? I don’t particularly want my data sold. Already get enough scam calls as is.

Would it not be better to do this through zk proofs?

zk proofs are cool, but even just hashing the number (and storing the hash) would boost privacy a lot with way less complexity. We’re not using it for ID—just to keep things fair and bot-free while we grow. Open to better ideas though!
