Big day for @circusdotfun and Farcaster. The airdrop went extremely smoothly. Hats off to @pirosb3 and the team. @linda coordinated the entire process beautifully, making us feel like genuine partners every step of the way. Here are some thoughts now that the dust has settled:

It’s tough to please everyone with this style of promotional airdrop. Setting criteria that align with the demographic you want to acquire is a tricky balance—and it’s basically impossible to get it perfect. Some folks will always find something to criticize. The selective nature of this type of airdrop definitely creates a sense of exclusivity. That can leave some people feeling left out. Does that hurt brand equity in the long run? Probably not significantly as most people forget quickly, and it likely doesn’t affect conversion rates much. But it can leave a temporary sour taste. Given the breadth of the network, narrowing the scope to under 2,000 accounts was always going to be a challenge. For those who missed out, you can still earn the upcoming June 13 airdrop by using the platform and collecting fees.

Financially, the cost of this airdrop initiative was higher than a typical ad campaign. At $6–$7 per user, it’s definitely on the high end. But the social impact and the knock-on effects of being a trending topic on a network for a day is hard to quantify. All I know is that it was well worth it. Add to that the escape velocity on X. Toly’s post gave us a huge boost, driving both price and user base through the roof almost instantly.

All in all, the airdrop was a resounding success, both in terms of community engagement and the visibility it brought to @circusdotfun We learned a lot, and we’re excited to apply those lessons to future launches. Thanks to everyone who joined us for the ride. The best is yet to come. 🎪🃏 Oh and if you haven’t tried the app, give it a whirl! app.circus.fun

Agreed, the claim experience was so smooth relative to other airdrops. Not having to worry about fake links etc. Right in feed and notified. The smoothest experience I have seen.
