Interesting attempted phishing / impersonation attack just occurred: - reputable person outreached and set up time - had a legit domain that redirected to the real company domain - 5 mins before the meeting, pinged me saying "join [sketchy-url].is for the meeting". At this point my alarm bells were going off - I clicked the link out of curiosity, and it said "couldn't join" - the person sent me to a sketchy support article URL that prompted me to download something - blocked & deleted Stay safe out there, folks

Damn.. So important to share these because someone could get rekt. Another one I have seen go around and been actually invited to participate. A sort of interview for creators - either through a website which seems legit and all, until the last minute when they want you to download their interview app.

Thanks for bringing this up. I found out about this when a Japanese user on X got their entire position siphoned by a scammer. It was in the middle of arranging an interview or chat with a user and he just got caught off guard when introduced to a "Translation App" that would allow them to speak freely to eachother. This was back in May, so it's around and it's dangerous. Be careful out there folks! Don't download apps you don't feel safe about. https://x.com/g_resident/status/1789344626778022031
