I consulted a vet today aka ChatGPT and confirmed that Cannelle is going through a pseudopregnancy (false pregnancy). The symptoms of swollen teats, nesting behavior, clinginess, and lethargy show up 4-8 weeks post-estrus (after her heat). Since her heat ended at the end of March-ish, her false pregnancy is right on time. She usually sleeps in her crate (by choice) but recently she’s always on the bed with me. Normally her spot would be at the bottom of the bed, but she has inched her way closer to me to be as close to me as possible and now we are sharing a pillow… Usually I enforce boundaries, but I can’t say no to her! Too precious! I feel bad she’s not feeling great. She feels funny and needs extra comfort rn, but at least we’re getting her spayed asap so she won’t have to deal with all these hormonal sufferings anymore. That’s thanks to this community and the contributors of the crowdfund we held. Thank you again and of course we will keep you updated. 🙏

omg this is real! She is so lucky to have you. she is such a sweet girl. do you think animals feel better after sterilizing them or its like invading their natural rhythm. I know she is feeling bad now i just saw in the park that male dogs hump male and don’t go after females and same vet Chatgpt told me its because female doesn’t smell like female anymore.

I think she’ll feel better and I’ll feel better after sterilizing her. Her personality and behavior completely changes for the worse when her heat hormones are elevated. She literally becomes a safety hazard to humans and other dogs 😭 She becomes quite aggressive and unpredictable when normally she is extremely social and friendly. And other dogs smell her and get aggressive too. (Bitches be bitching) When her heat is over, like the current state is in, false pregnancy comes in and she’s not normal at all. Like right now I’m eating some sausage and she has not reacted at all during cooking it or me eating it. She just wants to sleep. I think she’s feeling “sick” in this false pregnancy state. Additionally all the fluctuations in her hormones cause stomach upset and itchy skin, imbalances in a lot of different areas. At this point I only see positives in getting her sterilized. It will be much better for her and everyone. Her natural bitch hormonal cycle is a bitch!
