Part of our culture that scares me is the need to document everything. Like film it or capture it. 

I know I’m writing this on a documentation channel. But why does this scare me so much?

i'm borrowing from lewis here. he pointed out that when we stop to examine something about ourselves, we're observing a past state because we have to leave that state to enter into observation mode. 

ergo when you go from "i'm at the beach with friends" to "let me take pictures," you exit the moment in a sense.
