The IDE meta of AI programming died like overnight I swear.

Like it is useful, sure, but the gains in multithreaded task oriented coding agents outpaces and refactors faster than anything you could do intimately in an IDE.

Just Claude Code and Vertex AI/Google products

I’ve been singing Claude Code's praises to anyone who will listen and wanted to share a quick recording of how I used it to edit videos using ffmpeg.

Claude Code “orchestrated” ffmpeg and whipser to resize, transcribe, and add special effects to a video via pure prompting.

Editing video through a CLI feels wild and makes me question how many UI tools we actually need.

Coding agents aren't good enough for my taste.

There are many things they can do themselves for sure but also plenty of times I have to take over because they're being stupid.

Perhaps eventually they'll be good enough. But they aren't yet.

The job becomes correcting AI generated code

I find it also annoying when it is touching on more than it needs to. Like an unraveling spaghetti, I mean I just want a bite and test (taste) it. But feels like it shoves everything down my throat. Maybe I am doing it wrong
