The IDE meta of AI programming died like overnight I swear. Like it is useful, sure, but the gains in multithreaded task oriented coding agents outpaces and refactors faster than anything you could do intimately in an IDE. Optimal engineering job is technical product manager/director that sets the roadmap themselves

Coding agents aren't good enough for my taste. There are many things they can do themselves for sure but also plenty of times I have to take over because they're being stupid. Perhaps eventually they'll be good enough. But they aren't yet.

I find it also annoying when it is touching on more than it needs to. Like an unraveling spaghetti, I mean I just want a bite and test (taste) it. But feels like it shoves everything down my throat. Maybe I am doing it wrong
