I'm not turning on collectible casts for me. I'm not fanatically ideological about this, I just don't want to use an ephemeral kind of communication platform as a release launcher - I want to share things with you that I'm doing without them occupying a weird twilight of cast vs. the tokenized art. Casting, for me, is something I just do when the inspiration hits and I would rather not have to make secondary considerations like whether it's going to look good in posterity or how it fits into the total body of things I cast. I don't want to have some casts that are just progress updates or neat moments or jokes that don't make sense as collectibles compared to clever aphorisms or "historic moments." I don't really want everything I do to be subject to speculation (although you can't prevent it if you release *anything*). I think the whole zora/coin everything direction isn't evil, just not a great idea. I've seen a few creators commenting similar things: it requires weird "go viral then dump over and over" mechanics to make money - or that it's a zero sum game that ends up being PVP with your audience, or that it rewards people that already get attention and newcomers not at all, or even that it just ends up being a bizarre pumpfun-esque never ending series of flash in the pans that burn people out. These are all things to take into consideration I think - and I'm not going to boycott anyone having fun with collectibles (obviously). I just wanted to speak my little piece about why I'm not participating in that. It could end up being that I'm wrong about all this and I'll laugh in a few years as my vintage Vitalik cast that I took out a second mortgage to bid on becomes bonded and I can sell it to Blackrock.

Nice words Sarge. So actually, if anything I’m more pro making a post a 1:1 collectible than COIN EVERYTHING. Having each individual post represented a snapshot in time via collectible actually seems pretty sustainable once the furore settles down and folks start using it organically. Maybe the least extractive version of this particular socialfi experiment I’ve seen, and a world away from the PvP knife fight of Friend Tech that some folks seem to want to extend Ad Infinitum.
