Today is the last day of Trump's original 90 day pause.  His administration promised 90 deals in 90 days but they only finalized a single deal in this time. There are frameworks with Vietnam and China.

Appropriately, today is also Taco Tuesday and Taco Don has once again taco'd on tariffs, pushing them another few weeks to August 1. There are discussions with Canada and the EU that are in motion as well with dates scheduled later this month. He says in his post from this morning that he will not chicken out again haha

Effectively all Trump has done is push the original "Liberation Day" tariffs from April to August.

I hate it but this is a far better deal for USA than what was under Biden. It's stupid for China to negotiate alone.

The framework established last month put US tariffs on Chinese imports at 30%/55% depending on the product. Chinese tariffs on US imports are at 10% and they are supposed to resume exhortation of rare earth minerals to the USA. I'm not sure what comes next for those negotiations.

They may have to renew these levels next month
