That was going to be my guess. I listened to a pod the other day talking about how the tik-tok algo promotes Chinese propaganda and hides events that would be seen negatively. if this is one of the generations' primary information sources, this lean would fall in line with that model. It would be interesting to see a tik-tok adoption chart next to the sentiment chart for the demographics.

I’d say it’s because Chinese money positively influences middle countries the most (they lack access to cheap capital but have basic infrastructure)

wealthy countries don’t always need or benefit from large inflows of cash from China (asset bubbles, pop. is weary of propaganda)
