I made my first prediction on Polymarket today and the entire narrative of it hiding crypto and being A++ UX is just not at all true. It took me about 40m to get USDC on Polygon and then POL so I could send it. I eventually just gave up and a friend sent me $20 in POL.

I don't support Polygon chain, as wasn't any reques so far, but sending one token and paying with another is done in 5s on @payflow, cross-chain payments powered by @paywithglide, I think Polygon supported as well

that's the thing, if you don't have self custody wallets then your only option is to load up some funds from a credit card - no crypto bridging

yeah, the amount of friction was insane when i tried it (VPN, etc) i gave up bc it wasn't worth it and I didn't have that much conviction in where I wanted to place a prediction bet

I've used POL/MATIC for three years now. It's the L2 Decentraland uses for digital collectibles. Pain in the ass. Gas is super low tho. Did you try their portal POS or zkEVM to bridge? https://portal.polygon.technology/bridge 40 minutes sounds about right for a bridge from USDC on ETH to Polygon on POL.

I agree! It really shows that users are willing to jump through hoops when the offering is unique and valuable. Barriers aren’t dealbreakers when the product delivers something special.

I think the easiest way to fund it is directly from Coinbase in that case you don’t need any POL for gas so from that perspective it’s pretty good UX
