Bingo I liked the sound of “Run” more so than execute but thought exactly the same thing Own always felt a bit off. Collective ownership and content provenance are not things I feel most care about, unfortunately, nor can I see them lead to habit forming daily behaviours. Could be wrong. Run imo encompasses everything from smart contracts to agents

The follow on consequence of internalizing the difference is recognizing just how far we have to go in actually supporting that third component. Nearly every approach to scaling so far has been focused on "own on chain, execute off chain", which of course, is a failing proposition, because self sovereign uncensorable execution still requires that it be under the shield of the decentralized network, be it a block chain or something more novel.

No, even EVM is in the own camp — the entire financial backing of that ecosystem constantly regurgitates it, hell, one of the largest funds' partners even named a book after it.

yeah I mean, I guess a lot of people don't really care about the tech and only about making money, or ownership some how. but seems ludicrous to disregard what makes the system tick
