Hey folks, I get there's a lot of different things happening all at once (not to mention eth denver!), so let's talk about it.
This Sunday, at 3pm PST/6pm EST/11pm UTC, we're going to host a space on Twitter to hash out the upcoming fork, what it means, why it's happening, when it's happening, and how to get involved....

The events of the schedly hack yesterday are regrettable, and preventable.
Miniapps sometimes need to post content on user's behalf to function. Sometimes those posts have complex flows, where you can't, for example, pre-authorize the content.
One of the FIPs I will be introducing this week is functional signers. Thi...

Farcaster is forking!
As a user, what does this mean?
- Your account will continue to stay valid. Our side of the fork is going to make that indefinite. No more annual storage subscriptions, no casts lost to the ether, no limits on follows.

Last call for folks being part of the initial maintainer crew.
Farcaster is forking
Posting this ask separately despite it being in the prior post: with the fork of snapchain, if you are interested in being a maintainer on the org, please reach out – our intention is to try to get developer representation across users, client devs, and integrators, to remove a singular entity or individual as a point

Decentralization requires open participation. You cannot even begin to act like decentralization is federating one other team and calling it a day.
You played absolute back and forth games with Q team, rapidly switching to "we'll add your node", "we won't add your node", over and over, while trying to make it seem fro...
Farcaster’s aim continues to be a sufficiently decentralized protocol. We expect to add Uno as an independent validator and open source a snapshot of the Farcaster mobile client by the end of this month.
We’ve learned through Merkle’s years of experimentation that decentralization as a narrative isn’t enough to grow s

If you have an FIP you want to reopen conversation on, please import it: github.com/orgs/farcast...
We plan on formalizing FIPs as a process and will actually respect their integration as part of the fork

Open question of governance in crypto – Generally, there exists three different kinds of actors in the space: protocol nodes, clients and apps, and users. Sometimes people fall into all three categories, but you can see a strong example of the distinction in projects like ethereum, farcaster, and solana. When it comes ...

For those who have wondered the scope of what Q sets out to do, take a look at our tech tree: qstorage.quilibrium.com/techtree/ind...
You can explore the connections between the different categories of development we are doing, and you can see quite transparently where we're going next.
