subscription protocols definitely should consider more claim mechanics, like rollover/postponement/append-only mods. but this speaks to the unfulfilled potential of crypto media when the creator needs to risk tradeoffs in the CTA, as well as an ever-increasing demand for value, and so must rely on more tooling.

I wonder why we haven’t seen something like a “payment stream” concurrent with an experiential art project - like turns on to engage with the project, turn off when finished

interesting, so in a sense artists can measure interest/response to the CTA as how valuable the status symbol happens to be now or in lesser future circumstances. though not sure all art is transient or static mint/buy, so crypto art hasn't achieved a complete CTA.

I think thats definitely true, but disagree that minting is higher status 

if anything, minting seems like its become more casual, lower status, part of popular culture 

not a good or a bad thing, just a trend

Universal gambling drive is clearly dominant over anything relative status game-y a la art collection  

Artists are just much more likely to POST about their purchasable work now bc they don’t hate the CTA which drives distribution at scale

then why are mints so dominated by traders instead of collectors

But in terms of a cta I agree. Sharing your work as a ‘mint’ brings with it a degree of ‘innovation status’ on the creator side as well as the buyer side. Artists can lean into the age-old narrative of being thought leaders, experimenting with new techniques, mediums, mechanics and even markets.

I remember that feeling when I first started minting my lens based motion art in early 2021. It was less about getting someone to buy it as it was about that satisfying sense that I was giving my work provenance on the blockchain. If someone chose to buy it that was a bonus.
