There’s is actual research showing that airdrops aren’t long term solutions to growth. Why do we keep doing them?

Most apps i know view them as top funnel plays to gain maximum short term awareness. They're essentially the superbowl ad of web3, with probably the same spectrum of motivations for creating one.

It's not about the airdrop itself; it's the short-term approach. Once it's in the wallet, the pump-and-dump starts. Airdrops closely tied to the product and approached with a long-term view can be beneficial for growth.
