The best way to succeed here is to build genuine friendships with people. From there, your network will naturally grow. However, the current system makes this seem impossible. It doesn’t make sense to avoid engaging with people who don’t follow you just to prevent spam. Additionally, your mutual connections can’t engage with you either, as it might look like an engagement train. They really need to improve this situation.
