Cats are CRIMINALS!!! according to the Migratory Bird Treaty Act :P In this video, suggested by @bradenwolf we go into how cats have caused extinctions worldwide in birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians with their strong hunting instincts. I also give suggestions on how to responsibly own cats.. not that I do myslf

Other facts I missed!! The presence of cats can make their prey more fearful, reducing their fecundity, or birth rates, and creating chronic stress and health impacts (making a vid on this: “ecology of fear”). Also, the “gifts” they bring home mean the predators can’t eat it!! :3

I also didn’t cover the differences between feral and domestic cats!! Feral cats kill more according to some studies. Also, adding bells to your cat’s collar WILL NOT HELP!! They will still kill the bird, in fact, in one study, at even HIGHER rates than without one. It doesn’t alert the birds.

In one study, over 70% of mammals and 80% of birds attacked died even WITH treatment from puncture wounds, bacteria, and disease. So even if they get away, they still gonna die!! Also, spat/neuter programs exist for feral cats, but they’re controversial; the cats will just repopulate, so…
