Telegram has an obscene number of scammers who can DM you. Makes it almost unusable.

I just don't do DMs there unless I know the person from somewhere else.   their privacy settings are good.   be careful if you do make someone a "friend" on there as it may expose your phone number.

Been saying this for years. genuinely don’t understand how the simplest feature “disable DMs from those I don’t know” isn’t a thing.

And no way of reporting. See one scammer who constantly changes his username to scam people.

You can simply buy a telegram premium and limit who can DM you.
