Anyone got any advice on shin splints? I ran a week ago and had a little bit of pain for the first 2kms and then it went away - but today from 2km on it was awful and had to stop. Worst I’ve ever had and only in my lower right leg. Any tips?

The only advice is the one every runner doesn’t want to hear. You have to reduce your mileage and if it hurts too much. Stop running until the inflammation is gone.

Is it advisable to walk that same distance in place of running?

I think that’s probably a good idea, I’m definitely going to try and up the step count for now to at least keep active. Others have suggested swimming to keep up the cardio without the strain on the legs

I don't like to replace running with swimming because the respiration is completely different. very paced during swim, natural when running. so I'm always struggling with my resistance in the water because the perception is that I'm always in zone3/4. I might suggest you to bike, good for zone2.
