Everyone else in crypto is probably having a good day because prices are up, but gotta say that I’m having a pretty bad one as a crypto consumer developer 🤕

We’ve been working on some internal code to do USDC airdrops. Turns out there’s a different address on each of Ethereum Mainnet, Goerli, Base, and Base Goerli. Oh, and on Base there is a Bridged USDC as well as Native USDC to make things more confusing.

Then, I executed a MetaMask transaction with Ledger but it got stuck. Got instructions for how to override the transaction using nonces, only to find that there was no nonce on the pending transaction…

Had to figure out how to get a multisig deployed across chains with the same address. People mentioned Deterministic SAFE Deployer, but it turns out figuring out how to run that is non trivial. Smol has a MultiSafe solution, but the SAFE app isn’t autodetecting the new multisig.

Next, we tried to execute a Uniswap swap in our multisig and somehow external Chrome extensions were messing with some of our browsers. Took about 15 min to do a simple swap without any graceful failures or clear error messages.

Not targeted at anyone! Just frustration with where infra is in general right now. Uniswap doesn’t support Base Goerli yet. Could you help me get some USDC on the network for testing?

Why did they do that bridged vs native USDC garbage on Base? It's a brand new chain! I get why they put us through hell on Polygon but I just don't get why they couldn't skip bridged USDC on Base.
