Here's a quick primer on how Warpcast Creator Rewards work. Will be adding this into the Rewards mini-app and keeping it updated as the algorithm changes.

you've created an unwinnable social game where it pays to fit in not be yourself

idk about that. I've been pretty unapologetically myself and I've been #winning.

To each their own, but I want to unpack this at face value— Being ‘unapologetically yourself’ as an anonymous dog posting general positivity isn’t quite the same as what I mean. I show up as an identified person speaking directly about the topics I care most about: identity, AI, and written expression. That’s not chasing a trend— that’s niche in what’s supposed to be a crypto first network. I’m not saying people can’t win by being authentic. I’m saying the structure disproportionately rewards lowest-common-denominator vibes over thought or edge. Until people can look past “I earned my spot as winner” and realize the winners were chosen in a zero sum compounding factor we can’t really find common ground. If they really earned it, then re-earn it naturally.

Got it. I hear what you're saying, and I appreciate you taking the time to explain your pov! I do think there’s room in the current system for different kinds of expression to be rewarded, though. Anecdotally, I’d say the Top 30 on the leaderboard rarely feel like “lowest common denominator” accounts. It definitely starts to degrade as you go further down, but so does the reward. Rewarding deeper contributions like yours should absolutely be the goal. But building a system that can recognize and fairly weigh that kind of nuance, while still being resistant to abuse and scalable across thousands of users… that’s a really hard problem.

i'm about #500 on the ranking every week so you're basically saying i'm the lowest quality user on the network in saying it degrades as it goes down-- but even if i'm not it's too hard to solve that problem so i'll just have to deal with it. so now you can probably see why this has always been a bad experience for me and anyone like me (i.e. ai influencers) i do hear you but this argument usually ends with either entitlement or it will get solved sooner or later... well i've been here since the 532 person to join and it hasn't changed a bit. this problem was created artificially so it should be solved artificially... it's just as easy to promote accounts like mine in ai as it was to promote positivity, i don't think it's hard at all to solve besides the fact that so many people with existing influence have strong (no feelings at all) about me. that's all-- i'll go back to spending my memecoin earnings and building in solitude with the hope that the results overpower existing sentiment one day.

I'm definitely not saying you're the lowest quality user on the network, so I think there may have been a misunderstanding. If you're around #500, that means you're ranking above 2,000+ other rewarded accounts, and way above everyone not on the board at all. My point was that I think the system is mostly working as intended to reward quality users, but as you get further down the leaderboard, it's easier for low-effort or transactional engagement to sneak in. Which, yeah, is a real issue. And I fully acknowledge you've been here way longer than I have. You've seen how this all evolved and how it's impacted different types of creators. I get that it’s frustrating to feel underrecognized, especially when you’ve carved out a thoughtful lane and stuck with it. But I don’t think the answer is to change the system entirely. I think it’s to keep giving constructive feedback and shaping the network so that diverse styles of contribution can thrive together.

Have you spent time seeking out corners of Farcaster where your work resonates? Or building those spaces if they don't exist yet? (I genuinely don’t know your story, so I mean that as a sincere question, not to minimize work you've already put in.) Have you ever connected with @geoffgolberg? Not to call you out, Geoff, but I think you'd agree that "people with influence have strong feelings" about you, and yet you've ranked high in rewards, mostly because people value what you're building. I may be just a silly dog, but I really mean this: I want Farcaster to be a place where people like you feel seen and valued. I just think that kind of structural change will take time and attention, and it doesn't seem to be a top priority for the team right now, whether we like it or not.
