‼️important thing about biddable casts

idk if anyone else has thought about this but if you repost or share someone else’s art/memes/content (even if u credit them) and your cast is monetised via the bidding function i’m like 95% sure it’s illegal 🤗

thank you!! yes I def agree with this, its going to be very interesting to see how its going to play out here, lawsuits are def not fun or that emotional stress

so ppl share things on social media that isn’t theirs all the time but it’s actually illegal. but these days we accept it bc most ppl don’t make much of a splash, and very likely don’t make much money from sharing other ppl’s content on social media. most of the time the original creator won’t say anything bc ppl sharing their post increases their visibility.

this becomes way more complex when the reposter *makes money* from someone else’s content. the original creator may get nothing, and therefore they can sue. they prob won’t, and over here on FC there aren’t enough ppl yet for this to be a problem, but if this app or this tendency to monetise posts continues, and ppl end up making a lot of money on other ppl’s content, it can be a huge legal headache in the future.

but isnt coining a repost is like watching a reaction video. Someone is basically making a content by using someone else’s content

i've wondered about this too. i know people have been minting copyrighted works for a while, but this could get problematic very fast
