@pmarca Stanford and MIT are private universities. They can do whatever they want. You say that "they systematically cut most of the children of the Trump voter base out of any realistic prospect of access to higher education and corporate America," yet it is obvious that Trump's base is not interested in higher education to begin with. You say βThey declared war on 70% of the country and now theyβre going to pay the price." Why do you think that Trump's base is 70% of the country? It almost seems to me that you have a personal beef with Stanford. Is it possible that your own experiences via your wife are tainting your views to a degree? I also grew up in Wisconsin, so you and that in common. It seems like you are trying to speak for people based on some assumptions. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2025/07/12/marc-andreessen-private-chat-universities-diversity/?location=alert

Does this guy really think admitting a few extra minorities due to affirmative action policies resulted in excluding "the entire trump base"? Or is it he's upset that lazy trump voters can't compete with harder working and brighter (children of) immigrants? What is it about right-wing billionaires and petty grievances

If this were the 1950s or 60s he'd probably be one of those guys complaining about all the Jews keeping his kind out of higher ed.

It seems pretty odd to me cause Trump's base is generally less inclined towards higher education to begin with.
