I think the only way humanity survives AI is if we merge with it.

I think merging with AI would mean the end of human race as we know it. I read Dan Brown's Origin and it puts AI into perspective for me. It made me ask questions I didn't know I'd need to ask. Tech advancement would mean AI being totally autonomous. Now imagine not being able to control something that learns, at an alarming speed, from humans who happen to be the most destructive of animals? I know we're all very excited about AI, but we ought to be very careful with how much freedom we give it. The day its able to rewrite its code, would be dooms day for humans.

I’m not sure that it means doom if we’re also increasingly merging with intelligence which seems to be the direction we are moving anyway. I agree that we won’t survive in a future that is AI & humans. I think we could survive a future where it’s AI humans as 1 entity. Our brain connects to the ai datacenters allowing us to become super intelligent. Ray Kurzweil has some really good writing about this.

"Our brain connects to the ai datacenters allowing us to become super intelligent." This is something I would greatly appreciate. I'll check out Ray Kurzweil's perspective on it, would be nice to see different perspectives of this exciting, yet scary tech.

I get where he's coming from and agree totally with all his predictions. Some are already realities, especially in the area of medicine (think Neuralink), even though at a much smaller scale). However, he touched only one side of the coin, I suspect purposely, because the flip side would've been more controversial.
