Verified accounts are less likely to get the spam label and show up higher in the feed, replies and search. 

They are necessary to earn weekly rewards and qualify for airdrops

25$ in wallet is a fine, also social verification is not the way, especially the 18-month criteria, is not good enough. We should look into verifying activities like channel owners and their channel activities or products launched. 

Another option is to raise the required fee for verification for those who doesn't want to verify socials
