A nice review of the recently popular social prediction project Upside.fun on Base, written by @llamabee.
Many past attempts to put content onchain have proven unsustainable, most ended up as short-term PVP games with little long-term value. UpsideFun.twitter doesn't just tokenize content, it gamifies the speculation around it by combining it with social prediction mechanics.
Each piece of content can be seen as a real-time attention market, where players bet on which content will go viral in each round. It’s more than just voting, curators, traders, creators, voters, and inviters all have different ways to earn, making the gameplay more dynamic.
I’m curious to see how it performs as more people join, and whether it proves to be more sustainable and active than similar projects in the past. 3 replies
