What's the de facto process for token ticker symbols these days? i.e. how do prevent collisions? How does it work across Ethereum vs. Solana? Is CoinGecko the loose consensus canonical source of truth?

the source of truth is *new pairs + chain* filter on dexscreener followed by refreshing the list for price action every 6/24 hours
